David, who was a co-founder of Brisbane Colorectal, retired quietly at the end of December 2015, to enjoy other pursuits. You are now more likely to see him on a bicycle or a tennis court than in the office!
He attended Orange High School, NSW where he was Dux in 1974. Attended Sydney University Medical School from 1975 to 1979 and obtained Honours (2nd Class) at graduation. Was a Resident Medical Officer at St. George Hospital, Kogarah before undertaking General Surgical Training at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane.
Specialised Colorectal Surgical training subsequently undertaken at Basingstoke District Hospital with Mr. R. J. Heald (1987-88) and Royal Brisbane Hospital with Dr. R. Stitz (1989-1991).
Was a Visiting Surgeon to Princess Alexandra Hospital from 1992. His professional committee work has included being on the Executive of the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and on the Conjoint Endoscopy Committee.
